Weary travelers

Australia is incredibly hot when you're skateboarding across it. But at night when you're sleeping outside on the sidewalk with no blankets, the cold just hits you. It's a really strange feeling waking up cold outside in a new place every night underneath bats and stars. Mixed feelings of "cool!" and "I'm a crazy person".

Skateboarding for hours over rough highway road feels like jumping barefoot on jagged rocks. Good thing we have duct tape for the blisters. Another thing that helps is just telling yourself that the van is waiting over the next hill to pick you up, but it usually never is. It's funny because there's really nothing to even look forward to when you actually make it there except maybe some sauce sandwiches and a quick break so you can do it all over again for another 15 km until the day is over. Sometimes during the longer sessions Rob and I go crazy and start having conversations with cows.
Sauce sandwiches - Bread with bbq sauce or pasta sauce on it.

BEANS. This is just a small portion of our weekly bean collection. Not only are they a great source of protein but one night I slept outside curled up to one of the bean crates to block some of the freezing wind. True story - thanks, beans.
Sometimes we go all out and make bean sandwiches.
or spaghetti sandwiches! During everything you do here you have to fight with flies, including eating these delicious meals. The flies here have no fear and constantly go straight for your mouth and eyes. It makes everything that much harder, especially when you're speeding down a highway on a skateboard and trying not to fly into traffic.
Cookies for breakfast make everything better. We have a community pile of change that gets found in the van and it all goes towards cookies.
OATS. I've been using this same plastic fork for the entire month so far. Same with my gatorade bottle that I use for coffee and water. Yep, living like kings, and yep I have a pink bowl.
I normally wake up 2 or 3 hours before everyone else and just wander around whatever town we happen to be in and make friends.
At night we play under the stars. Borg, doing a bit of skateborging.

Borg and I braved barbed wire fences to party in a giant pool. It was the closest any of us were to being sort of clean for weeks.
The callus on my knuckle from my tattoo machines is slowly going down and it's a constant reminder of  how badly I need to start working again so I can afford more sauce sandwiches.

PS Being on the left side of the road is weird and The New Beat makes awesome Skate 4 Cancer tour video updates that MTV airs every week. Check it out.  I'd have more info but I haven't owned a TV for 5 years. Also, check out their latest blog updates.

Victoria Bitter

I don't remember what we were doing but it looks epic.

Comfy couch.

First kangaroo sighting. Later that day I actually ate kangaroo. Craaazy. This is where the pictures would be if we had actually taken some...

Finally found the best dachshunds ever. This is why I came to Sydney.

Partying on the boat cab floating around the opera house.

Under the harbor bridge. So rad. There are tons of bunnies everywhere here just hangin out. It doesn't really make any sense but it's for real I swear.

A few of us saying goodbye to the stoop :(

Back on the road in tour mode, eating sauce sandwiches and cold cans of beans. I'm not sure where we are but there's internet here. It's way too slow to show more pictures. The lack of swimming pictures is mostly just because I drown faster than any human being ever. Now on to Adelaide or Melbourne or somewhere like that.
